One normal day in 2009, I visited a pet store and bought a variety pack of treats for my dog, Doc. It turns out that Doc didn't like any of the treats in the variety pack except the "Dog S'mores". I ended up giving away the rest of the treats to friends with their own dogs because I didn't want to waste the remaining treats and throw them away.

While on the phone with my veterinarian friend in Boston, MA and told him the story about Doc only eating the S'mores flavored treats vs any other treats that I tried to give him. He then asked me "Why don't you make your own treats, since you always bake and you seem to love it?" I began to think and thought to myself "That's a great idea, maybe I should try this out and see what happens."

Coincidentally, my grandmother passed down many recipes to me and I thought that it would be a great place to start thinking about recipes. I brought those recipes back to my veterinarian's office and we converted them into dog treat recipes. From that moment on, Doc's Crumbs has been a part of my life and something that I wanted to share with all my friends and families pets.
